About Me (Poonam Arora)

My mom is the usual stay-at-home supermom. She chauffers, cooks, cleans, and more. She is a substitute teacher at my elementary school, and all of the kids LOVE her! Most importantly, she runs a budding jewelry ’business’, which she insists is a hobby, even though we (I say ’we’ because I help her with it) have put quite a lot of time and effort into the business/hobby!
Jeweltree
Here, I (Syona) will expand on Jeweltree.
We use beads that are made of glass, or stone. There are also quite a few pearls, which is a ’trademark’ item. Mom has quite a fan base. She mostly sells to friends and family, but is thinking about holding a few ’shows’ at some close friend’s houses. Later, pictures of some of her jewelry will be up.
The creative process is very fun. We have a room full of beads and pearls, and spend hours upon hours deciding how to do it. Then, the manual work comes in. We have to string EVERY SINGLE bead onto wire! Sometimes, our great effort will come crashing down if the jewelry breaks when we pull at the clasp to test it's strength. However, that is just a minor setback to the fun.
